The Moulin Niras, a wonderful, converted
olive windmill, sitting with in its own 3 acres
of private garden, is a beautiful addition to
our selection of French properties. It is a
pleasant 10 minute walk from the village of
Callas and within easy driving distance from
the bustling coastal towns of St. Maxime and
St., Tropez, and while you are here, you will
find every opportunity to enjoy both quiet
relaxation and the high life of the Cote d'Azur.
Many of the original features of the building
have been retained, including the waterwheel,
millstone, terracotta tiled floors and exposed
ceiling beams. The property has undergone
extensions and renovations, and is built on a
gentle hillside, and while most of the property
is on one level, it has a few stairs connecting
rooms as the gradient changes. Stunning
additional furnishings with a clever mix of
contemporary and antique, beautiful
Indonesian textiles, textured rich colored rugs
and fabrics reveal the owner's passion for
travel and their skill in finding individual
pieces that combine to create a stylish interior.
While the main objective has been to maintain
the original character of the house, it has also
been designed with the comfort of guests in
mind. The central large living room is made
complete with an open fireplace, two
comfortable sofas, a DVD player and finally,
an enormous collection of DVDs, which have
generously been supplied for guests'
entertainment. The grounds are filled with old
olive tree terraces, delightful paved areas, and
rose, lavender, and rosemary beds; a
panorama which greets you in the morning
when opening the French doors from your
bedroom onto a private patio area. The Moulin
Niras has received high accolades from
previous guests and the glowing words of
praise remain in evidence in the Moulin's
guest book.
