Wonderfully historic and quintessentially
French, the house is set in 750 acres with two
well appointed bedrooms and seven baths,
the property can easily accommodate 14
guests.
The Mas du Destet is a delightful mixture of
old and new set in the most unique
surroundings. Outside, the house is set in a
private courtyard and has five acres of tended
gardens and terraces, that give spectacular
views to Les Alpilles, and the sea far behind.
Just beyond the house is an enormous
swimming pool surrounded by tall hedges.
Once an irrigation reservoir, it is now a
fantastic swimming pool with a width of 52 ft..
The pool area has been built for summer
living - with a beautifully finished Indian
style pavilion, wide decking and a summer
kitchen. Nearby the pool, the private tennis
court has a hard surface and is well
maintained. Inside, the space is vast with a
large living room, TV room, dining room and
kitchen downstairs, and the ten bedrooms
and baths upstairs. The house has been well
though out with interconnecting doors to
make the space cozy and useful, rather than
overwhelming. High ceilings and tiled floors
make it ideal for hot summer days and cozy
fireplaces make it a great winter and off
season retreat. Out and about, the Mas du
Destet is located just 15 minutes from the
wonderful town of St. Remy and near to the
much photographed Les Baux-de-Provence,
famous for its bauxite cliffs and two star
Michelin restaurant. Further afield, the
medieval cities of Avignon, Arles and Nimes
are all within an hour's drive or less. Mas du
Destet is a unique destination with all of the
ingredients for a wonderful holiday
