Le Chateau Aubenas is an authentic 16th
century chateau set in huge grounds finished
to an exacting standard rarely seen. A
comfortable home, it is ideal for an extended
family or group holiday.
Le Chateau Aubenas is 16th century history
meets unpretentious minimalist chic…This
truly amazing house, once the summer
retreat of Charles de Voland (the son of
Charles II) has been restored internally to
the highest standard while the exterior and
gardens maintain their historic grandeur.
Aubenas-les-Alpes is a tiny hamlet set in the
Luberon countryside just 15 minutes from
the pretty town of Focalquier. Le Chateau
perches high at the top of this tiny cluster of
houses and enjoys completely private, gated
grounds, including an olive grove,
surrounded by forest. Next to the house, the
private swimming pool has a large terrace
and you will always find a quiet, shady
corner in which to relax and enjoy a glass
of local wine. Inside, the house can sleep up
to 12 (although a maximum of 8 adults) in
four well appointed bedrooms. Space is
abundant with long hallways, huge rooms
and high ceilings, but it has been cleverly
thought out with many interconnecting doors
and rooms, so that the space is useful and
cozy and not overwhelming. The furnishings
are minimalist style and the floors are tiled -
ideal for hot summer days. In addition to this,
every modern convenience has been added,
including SAT TV and DVD player.

First Floor: Master double bedroom with
en-suite bath - Double bedroom with en-suite
bath - "Tower" double bedroom - Bath -
Twin / children's room: Split over three
Levels with downstairs sting area and four
single beds upstairs. Also has a sofa bed to
sleep up to six. Plenty of space, ideal as a
children's room. Not recommended for
young children or elderly due to steep stairs.
