LE CHATEAU

Set in magnificent formal grounds is this beautifully restored
17th century chateau with chapel, swimming pool and tennis
court. The property is a few minutes outside of a typical
Provencal town with many shops and restaurants and is
within 30 minutes of Marseille International Airport.
The grounds are entered through large wrought iron security
gates and one is immediately impressed by the perfectly
manicured lawns which lead to the main chateau entrance.
There are ornate statues and a circular pond with another
statuette.
The main entrance hall has been restored to its original
state and has magnificent chandeliers and “trompe - l’oeil”
walls and ceiling. To the left is a cosy library with
comfortable seating and many antique books and
ornaments.
The large drawing room is to the right of the main hallway
and, again, is full of very comfortable sofas as well as
original oil paintings and period furniture including a baby
grand piano. Beyond the drawing room is a formal dining
room which is serviced by a modern, fully equipped kitchen.
Also on the ground floor is a small card room with an
additional fridge for drinks and a small guest cloakroom.
The first floor contains the 6 principal bedrooms, 5 double/
queen size and one twin. Each has its own en suite
bathroom, some with tubs and others with showers and
there is one with a sitting room and another with separate
dressing area. On the second floor are a further 5 bedrooms
which, due to their position and bathroom layout, we would
suggest as being suitable for children of staff.
There is a double and a twin which share a bathroom with
tub and hand held shower and a further two doubles and a
twin sharing a shower room. Also on this floor is a games
room with pool table, bar, television and video and a small
exercise area. There is also a baggage elevator to the first
and second floors.
Outside of the chateau is a large terrace with dining table,
large parasols and many potted shrubs and flowers making
an ideal summer entertaining area.
To the side of the chateau is a consecrated chapel dating
from the 16th century which can be used for weddings,
concerts or themed evenings. A little further away is the pool
area which is set in the walls of a ruined 15th century
archbishops palace and has many comfortable sun loungers
and parasols. Again, this is an ideal area for entertaining.
The tennis court is set a little further away and is completely
fenced. In this area is also a separate entrance to the
property which is ideal for service access for events and is
adjacent to a large parking area.
The guardians of the property live in a house on the edge of
the grounds so security and high levels of service can be
maintained. In all we are delighted to have found this unique
estate and would highly recommend it for holidays,
corporate events, parties and weddings.
