Ideal for an extended family or two families
wishing to vacation together, but retain a
degree of independence, La Bastide de Julie
is set amongst pleasant lawned gardens in a
small hamlet.
The main house, with its traditional
shuttered windows and tiled roof, is
accessed through a graveled courtyard with
beds of lavender and other shrubs, and looks
down over the swimming pool and lawns.
Within the courtyard there is a paved area,
which can be covered, and a barbecue. The
guest house is accessed off of the courtyard.
The main house has been carefully restored
and retains a number of the original features
with beamed ceilings, tiled and stone floors,
complemented contemporary fixtures and
fittings. The furnishings are a mixture of
modern and traditional pieces. The ground
floor of the property consists of an entrance
which leads to a well equipped kitchen with
a gas stove, fridge / freezer, microwave,
dishwasher and washing machine. The décor
is vibrant with salmon pink walls contrasting
with the beamed ceiling, and the kitchen is
open plan to the living room, which has a
traditional open fireplace and comfortable
furnishings. The separate dining room has a
table that can seat up to 12 people. There is
also a half bath on the ground floor. On the
first floor there are three twin bedrooms
(which can be made up as doubles), all with
en-suite bathrooms. The self contained guest
house is set across the courtyard and
comprises on the ground floor a small
kitchen and living room where there are two
single beds. On the first floor there is a twin
bedroom with en-suite bath. The swimming
pool is set amongst lawns below the house
and on one side is a covered, furnished
seating area that provides welcome shade
from the sun. There is also a separate shower.
