Domaine de Pamparigouste lies in an
elevated position, over 1600 ft. above sea
level, between Aups, the truffle capitol of
France and Tourtour, the "village in the sky"
from where the mountains of Corsica can be
seen on a clear day. This traditional old
"mas" dates in parts from the 16th century
and is set amongst 16 acres of extensive
grounds which include truffle oak woods, a
lavender field and an olive grove, offering
complete privacy.
The property has been refurbished and
decorated in a traditional Provencal style
with terracotta floors, interior and exterior
shutters, antique glass and many period
fittings. The entrance opens into the
spacious, well equipped country style
kitchen / dining room with a fireplace. The
comfortable and attractive living room has
an open fireplace, a built-in L-shaped sofa,
SAT TV with an extensive DVD library.
Also on the ground floor is a double
bedroom with en-suite bath and extensive
views out over the surrounding countryside.
An open-sided staircase leads from the
kitchen to the first floor. The pretty master
bedroom has a king sized bed and views of
the gardens. There are two further double
bedrooms which have been individually
decorated and all share a bath with shower.
There is also a small study or additional
bedroom, which is only suitable for a child.
The study benefits from having a telephone /
internet point. There is a large outside
dining area with a large wrought iron table
and chairs and a summer kitchen with a
fireplace and a built-in barbecue. This is the
perfect spot for enjoying long summer
evenings and for al fresco dining. There is
also an additional shower room. The south
facing gardens lead down to a 200 year old
"bassin" which has been transformed into a
16 x 20 ft. swimming pool. Sunloungers and
tables and chairs are dotted around the
gardens. Within the grounds is a stable
building with a large bedroom, ideal for
children, and an old workshop with ping
pong. Nestling amongst terraces of olive
trees there is a fenced , floodlit tennis court
as well as a boules court, trampoline and
exercise equipment.
