Walking through the door of La
Taniere from Mougin's cobbled
market square buzzing with
restaurants and galleries, one enters
into another world. A 17th century
building complete with original
beams, shutters and fireplaces, La
Taniere exudes peace and calm with
its soft colors of cream and off-white,
subtly used to maximize space and
light. Local furniture from antique
shops and French Country Design
combine with more modern 18th
century style pieces from Sweden
and other textiles and paints from
London. The kitchen is classic blue
and white with existing antique floor,
and on the top floor a fabulous
hexagonal tile floor was discovered
during the renovation process. Many
of the rooms including the main
bathroom enjoy balconies with
breathtaking views of Grasse and the
outstanding surrounding countryside.
Outside steps lead from the top to the
bottom of the "Babylonian" style
terraces, on the lowest of which is the
stylishly designed turquoise mosaic
lined swimming pool. Those guests
who are keen to experience life in the
heart of a classic French village and
enjoy local cuisine and culture, while
staying in a relaxing and stylish
